Description
Area Manager – Bulk Fuel & Oil
The Area Manager is responsible for the daily operations and performance of assigned bulk fuel and oil locations. This role provides hands-on leadership to site teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations while supporting financial performance and local market growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned bulk plant locations.
- Supervise, coach, and support site managers and team members.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (EPA, OSHA, DOT).
- Monitor inventory levels, ordering, and product availability to meet customer demand.
- Coordinate logistics, deliveries, and fleet activities to ensure efficient service.
- Support customer relationships by maintaining a strong presence in the field.
- Identify and address operational issues, driving continuous improvement.
- Assist with implementing company policies, procedures, and operational initiatives.
- Support budgeting efforts and monitor site-level financial performance.
- Partner with sales to support customer retention and growth within the area.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or a related field; industry experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience with fuel, propane, lubricants, or related products preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
- CTEP certification and in-depth product knowledge preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple locations and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge around equipment maintenance and preventive care knowledge for trucks, trailers, fuel storage, and fuel dispensers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Basic financial and operational understanding.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
