If you enjoy digging into data, asking the right questions, and seeing your work directly influence business decisions, this role is for you. We are seeking an experienced Actuary to join our Pricing team and play a key role in advancing our pricing and portfolio monitoring capabilities. 


This position is ideal for a proactive, data-driven actuary who enjoys partnering across the business to evaluate new program opportunities, assess profitability and volatility, and support sound risk selection and pricing decisions. The Actuary will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop actionable insights, enhance analytic models, and contribute to the continued growth of a high-performing actuarial function.


 Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Independently perform actuarial evaluation of new program opportunities, including ELR selection, rate adequacy, rater reviews and communicate results to stakeholders
  • Independently perform profitability reviews for each program and communicate those results to our stakeholders (internal and external) including actionable insights
  • Develop and maintain reports to monitor KPIs for each program, including but not limited to hit ratios, rate change, claim frequency/severity, aggregation, limits profile, class/industry profile, etc.
  • Create, enhance, and maintain pricing analytic models, including assumptions
  • Leverage internal and external data to inform decisions
  • Demonstrate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Establish business relationships with internal and external partners to aid in result discussions
  • Assist as needed with filing support, pricing referrals, underwriting audits, etc.
  • Support the development of analysts
  • Other duties, as directed

Requirements
  •  BS/BA in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or advanced analytics.
  • ACAS preferred
  • 8+ years P&C experience. Experience in insurance or reinsurance in any combination of pricing, reserving, or ERM functional areas
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL databases or Python / R is a plus
  • Familiarity with Power BI / Tableau is preferred 
  • Have strong planning, organizational, project management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across other company functions (business development, underwriting, claims, and finance)
  • Excellent analytical skills with advanced data analytics experience a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
