POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing counseling and other clinical services to children, adults, couples, and families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy in an office or community setting, utilizing evidence-based practices and a variety of therapeutic approaches.
- Completes bio-psycho-social assessment and develops treatment goals with the client and parent/guardian as appropriate.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
- Participates in clinical case staffing as needed. Schedules clinical case staffing to ensure consistent communication with other professional staff involved with the client.
- Collaborates with external agencies and with families to coordinate services on behalf of the individuals served.
- Maintains case records and notes in a timely and professional manner. Submits counseling reports as defined in the policy.
- Assures proper billing for self-pay and insured clients. Complies with all Insurance, Medicaid Rule 132, and Managed Care Organization requirements based on client’s insurance type.
- Participate in Utilization Review of clinical files.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Must possess the knowledge, personal qualities, and practice skills to work effectively with professionals in other organizations and from other disciplines and to provide services in a manner that reflects understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism.
- The ability and willingness to actively participate in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and various treatment modalities used with the population(s) served.
- Must meet DCFS/CANTS Clearance Requirements.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain proof of automobile insurance.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program or in a related human service field required.
- License of Clinical Social Work (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) preferred.
