Job Summary
The Senior International Relationship Manager is responsible for building, managing, and retaining a portfolio of international affluent individuals and businesses, in keeping with the Bank’s protocol and procedures for International Banking. The Relationship Manager expectation is to meet and exceed goals by developing new relationships with prospects and existing clients. Through a proactive need-based selling approach, the Relationship Manager will cross-sells bank products. The Relationship Manager will collaborate with the appropriate business partner, as needed, to establish, build, and expand Commercial Relationships for international high-net-worth individuals that own business, properties, second home in the United States.
The International Relationship Manager is expected to attain or exceed production goals and is responsible for the development of relationships through business development, social functions, association memberships and development of relevant international COIs. The International Relationship Manager is expected to deliver the highest level of client service to the client base while adhering to the Bank's BSA/AML, Compliance and Policies and Procedures, responding to all client requests on a timely basis and providing prompt and white glove service.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Aids in developing the international business line, including collaboration with Compliance, Operations, Trust, and other teams on procedures, policies, products, and services.
- Develops and maintains relationships with international clients, including individuals, entrepreneurs, and globally active business.
- Serves as the primary advisor for clients’ international banking and other financial needs.
- Coordinates with tax advisors and estate planners regarding needed financial solutions.
- Manages and expands existing client accounts, providing tailored financial solutions.
- Solicits new business through client referrals and cold calling efforts to meet or exceed the Bank’s strategic goals.
- Generates proposal and develops sales strategies at an expert level.
- Builds referral networks with attorneys, accountants, family offices, and intermediaries.
- Develops, expands, and maintains referral sources.
- Documents relationship process as needed.
- Works with clients in analyzing problems and propose solutions.
- Acts as client’s advocate in securing suitable credit and cross selling products and services.
- Works with appropriate partners for any lending needs.
- Works to develop and maintain solid relationships with all partners.
- Maintains expert level knowledge of all bank products and services.
- Consistently meets and exceeds individual and/or team sales goals.
- Participates in special projects as needed.
- Must be willing to participate in community organizations and activities.
- May require travel internationally to meet with clients, prospect for new business, support client retention efforts and develop and maintain in-country referral networks.
- Ensures all transactions adhere to international regulations, KYC, and BSA/AML requirements. Understands and is familiar with the BSA/AML program/policy; follows all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures; and completes all BSA/AML/OFAC related online courses.

Qualifications and Skills
- 5 plus years of recent experience in direct sales and International Banking development experience in the banking industry
- Strong understanding of cross-border banking, international regulations, and financial products
- Must be highly capable of meeting sales goals, independent activity in direct banking sales and credit support as well as maximizing cross-sell opportunities and relationship profitability
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust.
- Experience working in a sales team, and high quality service advocacy.
- An in-depth knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/AML requirements is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or equivalent, preferred
