Job Summary
If you like working with kids; our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking for energetic, conscientious, and resourceful Specialists to join our team for the season. Our summer day camp program serves children ages 4-12 and we are looking for passionate, creative specialists in Arts & Crafts, Farm Camp, STEM/Nature, Performing Arts, Farm Specialist, and Sports Specialist
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve as lead educator for the particular specialty in the Cherryvale Camps Program with potential to lead our two week specialty camp or multiple sessions of two week specialty camps
- Develop and document diverse, age appropriate activities for each group.
- Assist in creating and implementing projects for other specialty camps, including Farm and Nature camps.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for campers, abiding by all camp rules and policies. Assist any camper with empathy and patience.
- Enthusiastically participate in all camp programs and activities.
- Assisting in camp groups when staff support is needed
- Work with the leadership team (Assistant Camp Director, Program Coordinator, Camp Director, Camper Care Specialist, Kindergarten Camper Care Specialist) as needed.
- Work in close coordination with the staff on the farm, the teen farm educator, ECC (Early Childhood Center) farm educator, Cherryvale Day Camp Counselors and all other staff who utilize the Milk & Honey Farm for programs.
Working Environment
- This role is in-person, seasonal, and full time during the camp season, May 11 - August 7, 2026.
- Our Camps programs are operated outdoors unless the weather prohibits it. Working conditions include spending full days under the sun in all temperatures. Arts and crafts will have a designated tent space.
- We have two full weeks of training before camp begins.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be over the age of 18.
- Background in area of Specialty expertise education or instruction
- Experience or willingness to work with children (ages 4 – 12)
- Ability to integrate camp values in programs
- Has the ability to think and act creatively, be flexible, demonstrate pride of work, and is caring about the individuals they serve.

While performing regular duties, you will be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While this role is primarily seasonal, from May - August, there is opportunity for a limited number of staff to extend beyond seasonal capacity.
Compensation
This is a non-exempt hourly position with a salary range of $17.25-18.50/hour commensurate with experience. This is a 40-hour a week position May-August
