St. Teresa Catholic School is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and faith-filled elementary teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.  The ideal candidate would be a Catholic who is able to differentiate instruction and utilize various teaching techniques that would challenge and empower students to develop their full potential.  The candidate should display a love for learning, familiarity with the latest trends in educational technology, the ability to bring the curriculum alive, and work well with a team. This is a full-time position with complete benefits package.  This position will begin in August, 2026.

 
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Compliance with Diocesan FBI fingerprint clearance and compliance with Safe Environment training and test requirements;
  • Have a BA in a related field from an Accredited College or University;
  • Current Florida Teaching Certificate or Letter of Eligibility;
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred;
  • Upon employment, individual will be subject to a 90-day probationary period;
  • Preference will be given to practicing Catholics;

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Knows, teaches and acts consistently in accordance with the mission, philosophy, objectives, and policies and procedures of the Catholic school;
  • Understands and appropriately teaches the curriculum of the Diocese of Orlando;
  • Assesses student progress in accordance with the approved procedures of the Diocese of Orlando;
  • Communicates regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues and principal;
  • Maintains accurate student attendance and academic records;
  • Maintains a safe, orderly and secure learning and working environment;
  • Maintains confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students and general school matters;
  • Supervises and evaluates students, escorts students from building to building and on field trips (being responsible for keeping field trip permission slips as well as student medical information forms). 
  • Attends required faculty and staff meetings;
  • Cooperates with the principal and staff members in school-related meetings, activities and projects;
  • Participates in the semi-annual performance review based upon the implementation of the general responsibilities of a professional educator in a school; 
  • Maintains Florida state teaching certification;
  • Participates in the Diocese of Orlando Diocesan Catechist Certification Program and in Diocesan and school-sponsored professional development programs;
  • Performs other duties as assigned. The principal assigns specific tasks essential to the function of the position.
