Position Overview
Maréla is a coastal European–inspired restaurant rooted in the traditions of Southern European wine and seafood cuisine. Our concept celebrates the simplicity and elegance of coastal cooking—where exceptional ingredients, thoughtful technique, and seasonality take center stage.
We are seeking a Steward who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential to the success of the culinary and service teams, ensuring that all kitchen tools, equipment, and service ware are cleaned, sanitized, and ready to support a seamless guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, kitchen, and storage spaces
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, including proper sanitation procedures
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, notifying leadership when inventory is low
- Safely operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper maintenance
Kitchen Support
- Assist culinary team with basic prep tasks as needed (e.g., peeling, washing produce)
- Support the flow of service by ensuring timely turnaround of clean items
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when required
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, drains, trash areas, and back-of-house workspaces
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with culinary and service teams to support smooth operations during service
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding any equipment or operational issues
- Demonstrate a team-first mentality and willingness to support where needed
Qualifications
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness, detail, and organization
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking in a kitchen environment
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies
- Exposure to heat, water, and cleaning chemicals
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion
