Description
The Warehouse Assistant will prepare orders for shipment by reading a pick list, gathering orders, adding strapping and stretch wrap, and providing documentation according to customer specifications. Assist in inventory counts and warehouse organization.
This role will require 30 days training onsite, during the day shift. After 30 days, the employee will transfer to the 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- Coordinate shipment of outgoing goods including the handling of proper documentation and shipment tracing.
- Prepare bills of lading for outbound shipment and contacting motor carries for pickup.
- Consolidate outbound shipments to customers.
- Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe.
- Receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Understand and follow safety procedures.
- Receive, stock, and deliver goods.
- Assist in counting physical inventory.
- Drive a fork truck and obtain certification for safe operation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of warehouse-related experience required.
- Efficient time management skills.
- High attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to wear required protective equipment and devices.
- Ability to operate a fork truck and other material handling equipment.
