Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a Senior Python and SAS Developer to join our growing team.

In this role, you will lead the modernization and re-engineering of legacy systems into scalable, open-source solutions, leveraging Python and PySpark for distributed data processing. You will also support and enhance existing applications, contribute to serverless architecture transitions, optimize database performance, and build efficient data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python. 
• Modernize and re-engineer legacy processes using open-source technologies (Python with PySpark or R) and modern design patterns. 
• Refactor and re-architect server-based applications into serverless architectures. 
• Convert procedural logic, stored procedures, and functions into optimized PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL). 
• Develop, maintain, and support existing SAS processes (primarily SAS Base). 
• Work within a Linux environment, leveraging containerization and orchestration tools. 
• Analyze and translate requirements into functional and technical solutions. 
• Utilize Git for version control and collaborate through code reviews. 
• Perform testing and ensure code quality and deployment readiness. 

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Python (including PySpark) – 4+ years 
• PostgreSQL – 4+ years 
• Oracle PL/SQL – 4+ years 
• Linux – 4+ years 
• SAS (preferably SAS Base) – 2+ years 
• Serverless architecture (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, containerization/orchestration) – 2+ years 
• AWS cloud technologies (e.g., Lambda, SQS, SNS, IAM) – 2+ years 

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with R (1–2 years preferred) 
• Strong communication skills 
• Ability to mentor junior developers

Certifications

• Desired: Python-related certifications 

Additional Information

• Clearance: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Work Environment: Remote work as approved by the customer
• Salary: $100,000-$150,000 annually, based on experience
