Position Description
The Senior Director, Advancement Services serves as the operational leader and strategic partner to the Vice President, Strategic Philanthropy. This role is responsible for building and managing the operational and systems infrastructure that supports fundraising and donor engagement across the department. With oversight of CRM and data strategy, analytics and reporting, prospect research, portfolio optimization, and gift processing, this leader ensures fundraising teams have the systems, processes, and insights needed to perform effectively and scale.
The Senior Director will oversee a team of approximately three direct reports, with an expectation to assess and evolve the team’s structure over time to meet the growing needs of the fundraising program. They will play a key role in strengthening the operational backbone of the fundraising program by aligning people, processes, and platforms to support stronger donor engagement and revenue growth across all philanthropic channels. In addition to leading operations, this individual serves as a collaborative leader within the Advancement team and a key partner across the Federation, working closely with Finance, Product, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and operational effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee Advancement Operations, including CRM strategy, data analytics and reporting, prospect research, portfolio management, gift processing, and systems optimization.
- Manage and optimize the Advancement CRM ecosystem to support segmentation, donor journeys, campaign tracking, and fundraising performance measurement.
- Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and operational rhythms that support strategic decision-making and accountability across the department.
- Ensure strong data integrity, compliance, and internal controls in alignment with organizational and financial policies.
- Oversee portfolio management strategy and prospect research to strengthen donor pipeline development and frontline fundraising productivity.
- Establish and maintain processes related to philanthropic gift agreements to ensure alignment with donor intent, organizational policy, and legal requirements.
- Identify opportunities for automation, workflow improvements, and operational efficiencies across fundraising systems and processes.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to support consistency, scalability, and best practices in fundraising operations.
- Partner with Advancement leadership to operationalize annual and multi-year fundraising strategies through goal setting, performance tracking, and pipeline management.
- Monitor key fundraising metrics including donor retention, acquisition, pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and cost per dollar raised.
- Support the continued growth and optimization of the Annual Fund through segmentation, digital strategy, and channel performance analysis.
- Partner with Finance and internal stakeholders to strengthen revenue reporting, reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Serve as a liaison between Advancement and Federation partners, including Finance, Product, and technology teams, to ensure alignment of systems, data governance, and operational priorities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Advancement Operations staff while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to Advancement leadership discussions and support cross-department collaboration to strengthen the overall effectiveness and scalability of the fundraising program.
- Promote a culture of philanthropy across federation staff, stakeholders, and entire organization.
- Support overall goals of the Advancement team.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field required.
- 10-15 years experience in advancement operations, development strategy, nonprofit management, or related fields.
- Proven experience leading transformation and building or significantly strengthening operational infrastructure within a growing fundraising organization.
- Deep familiarity with CRM systems, fundraising analytics, prospect research, and portfolio management, including experience working across multiple data systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build or strengthen operational infrastructure within a growing fundraising organization.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Ability to translate strategic priorities into systems, processes, and operational structures.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across teams and departments.
- Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong project management, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Experience in Salesforce valued.
- General knowledge of soccerr.
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
