Job Title: Vice President, Business Applications
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President, Business Applications is a senior IT leadership role responsible for the strategy, delivery, and lifecycle management of the enterprise application portfolio that powers CareMetx's operations. This leader will partner closely with business stakeholders across Hub Operations, Client Services, Finance, HR, Compliance, and Product to ensure that our internal systems—including CRM, ERP, workforce management, and operational platforms—are aligned with company growth objectives and deliver measurable value.
This role requires a strategic thinker with deep hands-on experience in enterprise application management, a strong understanding of the healthcare technology landscape, and a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the enterprise business applications strategy in alignment with CareMetx's broader IT and corporate objectives.
- Serve as a key member of the IT leadership team under SVP, Information Technology, contributing to technology roadmap planning, budget development, and enterprise architecture decisions.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of application managers, analysts, and developers.
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks, change management processes, and application lifecycle policies.
Application Portfolio Management
- Own the full lifecycle of all business applications including CRM, ERP, HRIS, finance systems, contact center platforms, and operational tooling.
- Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and ongoing vendor relationship management.
- Ensure applications are scalable, secure, compliant (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.), and aligned with industry best practices in healthcare technology.
- Oversee integration architecture between business applications and CareMetx's proprietary hub platform and digital products.
Delivery & Operations
- Drive continuous improvement across application performance, reliability, and user adoption.
- Partner with the PMO and IT Operations teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Establish KPIs and SLAs for all business applications and provide regular reporting to executive leadership.
- Manage escalations and serve as the point of accountability for critical application incidents.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, translating complex technology capabilities into business outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration between internal systems and client-facing platforms.
- Champion user experience and change management practices that drive adoption and minimize disruption during system transitions.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing business applications or enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex application portfolios in a healthcare, health-tech, or life sciences environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with hub services, specialty pharmacy, or patient access technology platforms.
- Experience operating within a private equity-backed, high-growth company environment.
- MBA or advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
- PMP, ITIL, or similar certifications.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of CRM (e.g., Salesforce), ERP, HRIS, and contact center platforms.
- Deep understanding of healthcare compliance requirements including HIPAA, HITECH, and data privacy regulations.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale system implementations and migrations
- Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with API integration patterns, data platforms, and cloud-based application architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
