Position Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the Finance Administrator in performing accounting and administrative functions within the Fiscal Department. This role is responsible for supporting the corporation's financial operations and maintaining accurate records and files. The position requires sound judgement, initiative, discretion, and professionalism. The Staff Accountant works closely with accounting personnel, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred.
- Two years experience in direct accounting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain financial records and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analyses and complete the monthly close process, including bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to support reporting and analysis.
- Review accounts receivable and contribution transactions for accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, W-9 verification, check runs, and monitoring invoice due dates.
- Ensure accurate and timely vendor payments and expense voucher processing; identify and implement process improvements as needed.
- Review and approve credit card purchases and bill payments in Ramp.
- Communicate and interact professionally with vendors.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Finance Administrator.
- Assist in the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Collaborate with the Finance Administrator during the audit process to ensure timely and accurate submission of required documentation.
- Assist with administrative support tasks such as data entry, filing, and mailings.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

- Participate in ongoing professional development, including on-the-job learning, guidance and feedback, and performance improvement activities.

- General Ledger & Journal Entries: Accurately maintaining the general ledger and recording daily transactions.
- Reconciliation: Reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and subledgers.
