Blue Oak School is seeking enthusiastic, warm and caring individuals who are patient, enjoy being in the company of children, are passionate about the growth and development of youth through play and exploration and most importantly LOVE to HAVE FUN. This candidate will ideally have experience with attentively facilitating small and large groups of children, leading games and activities and being a positive role model. During the course of our summer days, CAMPERS and STAFF will run, jump, play, draw, experiment, cook, go on adventures around the community and many other things. - Knowledge of/about Recreation , Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field
- One or two years minimum of relevant work experience with school-age children: teaching, coaching, babysitting, adventure programming, and/or camps or recreation leadership
- Customer relations experience
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- CPR & 1st Aid (preferred)

Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead group games and activities
- Work with the team to develop attractive, theme-based camp activities
- Prepare materials as needed throughout the day
- Actively supervise campers at all times
- Provide strong communication with families and other employees
- Provide a safe and secure environment for students enrolled in camp programs
- Manage student behavior aligned with the Blue Oak philosophy
- Maintain a program climate of trust and mutual respect
Abilities
- Ability to lift 30 pound, using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to sit, stand, and /or move around the office as needed
- Ability to travel around the community and our campus safely and comfortably
- Ability to swim, hike, run, jump, walk long distances and complete other physical activities
- Ability to use a keyboard (or an alternative input device) and other office equipment
- Ability to read information in printed material on a computer screen (often for extended periods of time) and/or on a mobile device/laptop
