COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $25.00 - 27.00 Hourly

JOB SUMMARY

The Flooring Field Technician plays a critical role in supporting project execution by performing site measurements, inspections, and light repairs for flooring installations. This position works closely with internal teams to ensure accurate project assessments and to identify installation or material-related issues.

Success in this role means site measurements are accurate, project conditions are clearly documented, and issues are identified and communicated to support successful installation outcomes.

Requirements

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Perform on-site measurements and create site drawings to support accurate job proposals.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify substrate conditions, flooring types, and potential installation or product-related issues.
  • Assess and document flooring concerns, including potential causes of failure and installation-related deficiencies.
  • Install transitions, complete minor repairs, and perform touch-ups as needed.
  • Reconnect appliances, excluding natural gas and propane appliances, in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Deliver materials to job sites and perform follow-up job checks to ensure completion standards are met.
  • Review construction plans, layouts, and project documentation to support accurate field assessments.
  • Communicate findings and project updates effectively with internal teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at job sites.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS  

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of flooring installation or related field experience.
  • Working knowledge of flooring materials, installation methods, and site preparation requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, layouts, and specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record at time of hire and throughout employment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional experience in flooring repair, inspection, or quality control.
  • Experience working in residential or commercial construction environments.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility: Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites, warehouses, and residential or commercial environments.
  • Positioning: Regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequently handles tools, materials, and equipment used in flooring installation and repair.
  • Vision: Ability to visually inspect flooring conditions, materials, and installation quality, and identify defects or inconsistencies.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

  • Warehouse/Facility: Work may be performed in a warehouse or facility environment with exposure to non-climate-controlled conditions, moving equipment, and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Job Site/Field: Regular work at job sites, including occupied and unoccupied residential or commercial properties, with exposure to outdoor conditions, dust, and varying terrain.
  • Operational Demands: Role requires working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple job sites, and meeting project timelines.
  • Safety: Requires adherence to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
