CNC Operator
Description

BASIC FUNCTION

The CNC Operator primary function is to perform duties in the Production Department such as setting up tools, materials, and supplies for yourself and other workers; cleaning work area, machines, and tools; and assisting other workers in performing their tasks. The CNC Operator is responsible for reading and understanding sketches, prints, and other related technical data to produce quality parts using conventional Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine equipment.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (Not inclusive of)

  • Setup lathe, milling, knife, and laser machines.
  • Change and select tooling based on dimensional tolerances assigned by blueprints
  • Operate and maintain lathe, milling, knife, and laser machines.
  • Review drawings, instructions, or samples ensure accurate production of parts.
  • Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping using calipers or equipment
  • Select appropriate machine and settings for given task.
  • Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Monitor production of parts, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of completed products.
  • Check output for quality assurance and document defects.
  • Identify and perform required machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.

Starting pay $22-$25 (Dependent on Experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 1-2 years CNC experience. 
  • Setup experience



Salary Description
$45,000 to $54,000 (Depending on Experience)
