LOT STAFF - LEAD

America's Auto Auction Toledo is looking to add to our growing team! 


The Lot Operations Lead is responsible for the physical organization and inventory integrity of the auction yard. You are the "chess master" of the lot, ensuring that every vehicle is parked in its assigned space and can be found instantly. This role involves managing the check-in process, overseeing the "numbering" of units, and ensuring the lot is clean, safe, and ready for customers. You will lead a small team of lot attendants to ensure that the transition from vehicle arrival to the auction lane is seamless and documented.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the check-in process for all incoming vehicles, ensuring VINs are scanned, and inventory stickers are applied correctly.
  • Designs and implements the parking plan for each sale, ensuring that vehicles are grouped by seller, make, or specialty (e.g., "Inops").
  • Conducts daily lot audits to identify and reconcile any missing units or misplaced inventory.
  • Manages the Inoperable Vehicle area, coordinating with the forklift operators and tow drivers to move these units safely.
  • Ensures the lot is customer ready by overseeing trash removal, weed control, and the clear marking of lane numbers.
  • Responsible for the security of the lot, ensuring that all vehicles are locked and keys are secured at the end of each day.
  • Coordinates the set-up for the morning of the auction, including the placement of cones, signage, and barriers.
  • Assists the Transportation Department by identifying and clearing paths for multi-car haulers to load and unload.
  • Trains lot staff on the use of handheld inventory scanners and the internal auction management software.
  • Monitors the key-to-car ratio, ensuring that every vehicle on the lot has its corresponding key accounted for in the system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in lot operations, warehouse logistics, or a similar field.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk and stand for 8-10 hours per day.
  • Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions for the duration of the shift.
  • Required to lift up to 50 pounds (e.g., moving cones, signs, or equipment).
  • Must be able to enter and exit various types of vehicles frequently.
  • Must have the physical stamina to work long hours on auction days
