The VP, Sustainability Services is accountable for the full P&L performance of the product group, which includes retainer client management, sustainability data and assurance services, and strategic sustainability advisory services. Product offerings span ongoing energy data management and reporting to comprehensive greenhouse gas inventories, building performance standards compliance, sustainability and ESG reporting. Environ is continuously seeking expansion of energy & sustainability-related services as well. This role drives enterprise-wide financial outcomes, aligns delivery and commercial strategy, and ensures consistent, high-quality execution across all client segments.
The VP translates company and investor strategy into operational and financial results, ensuring the business achieves its growth, profitability, client retention and mission objectives.
This role reports to the COO. There are product level managers in place who report to the VP, with approximately 18 delivery staff reporting to them. The sustainability services product line represents ~8% of current total company revenue.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, or a sustainability-related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in sustainability services
- Proven experience owning or directly managing a P&L

Key Responsibilities:
Full P&L Ownership
- Own revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and overall financial performance of the sustainability services product line
- Develop and deliver annual operating plans and long-term value creation targets
- Drive pricing strategy, cost structure optimization, and resource allocation
- Establish financial rigor across forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking
Commercial & Growth Leadership
- Partner with Revenue Team leadership to drive revenue growth and client retention
- Maintain visibility into pipeline health, conversion rates, and cross-sell execution, ensuring the operational foundation (product-market fit, value proposition, and delivery capabilities) enables sales success, without direct ownership of sales performance
- Identify new service offerings, pricing models, and market opportunities
- Align delivery capabilities with evolving client and market demands
Operational Excellence & Scalability
- Standardize and scale delivery models across the segment
- Drive efficiency in resourcing, utilization, and project economics
- Implement consistent KPIs, dashboards, and reporting across product offerings

- Lead integration of acquired sustainability services businesses, if applicable
- Ensure realization of revenue synergies, cost efficiencies, and capability expansion

- Ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience across the full product line
- Monitor client satisfaction, retention, and account growth metrics
- Step in on key strategic accounts or escalations as needed
