Zak Designs is seeking a strategic and technically savvy Content Specialist to support our brand communication initiatives. This role focuses on optimizing content for AI-driven search platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, etc.) in addition to traditional search engines. This position will execute the content strategy designed to increase brand visibility, authority, and discoverability across generative AI platforms while aligning with broader SEO, content, and demand generation goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. The following is an overview of the main duties for this position and is not all-inclusive of each task that may be performed in this role.
- Implement GEO strategies to increase brand presence in AI-generated responses.
- Optimize content for AI readability, entity recognition, structured data, and semantic search.
- Create high-quality, authoritative content aligned with search intent and AI query patterns.
- Refresh existing content to improve AI citation potential and structured relevance.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop thought leadership and cornerstone content.
- Partner with marketing, product, and sales teams to align messaging and positioning.
- Support marketing and social media efforts with event photography and graphic design.
- Request, organize, and ship samples to content creators.
- Review written and visual content for adherence to brand messaging and positioning.
- Support PR and backlink strategies to strengthen authority signals.
- Stay ahead of emerging AI search trends and algorithm changes.

- Education and/or Experience: Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and three (2) to four (4) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 1 year of focused experience in AI-search optimization or Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the company.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Reasoning Abilities: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into action.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to tactfully deal with various personalities throughout the company and deal effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
- Strong understanding of search intent, semantic search, and structured data.
- Experience optimizing content for AI platforms and conversational queries.
- Knowledge of AI tools and LLM behavior.
- Background in B2B or enterprise marketing preferred.
- Experience with content management systems preferred (WordPress, Webflow, etc.).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite software.
- Attention to detail and ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
