The Clean Vehicles Campaign (CVC) is an unbranded coalition of more than 60 groups from various areas dedicated to advancing policies to reduce pollution from cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles. The Campaign works to leverage existing infrastructure, resources, and assets and collaborates with allied coalitions.
In the next year, the Campaign seeks to accelerate the drive to a zero-emission future in the transportation sector with a robust U.S. manufacturing sector, strong vehicle standards, and equitable resource deployment.
The Clean Vehicles Campaign is a project of the Partnership Project.
Scope: Working under the Senior Advocacy Manager, the Program Assistant will support the Campaign's mission and maintain strong working relationships with coalition members, allies, and other key stakeholders.
The Program Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and project activities. This role is responsible for the organization and maintenance of internal and external materials. The Program Assistant will interface with different members of the coalition, acting as the first line of contact for technical and troubleshooting needs. This role will be responsible for the support and upkeep of a variety of activities.
Job activities include, but are not limited to:
Administration:
- Contributing towards a positive, productive, and collaborative working environment.
- Updating systems to track program objectives, goals, and deliverables for inclusion in grant writing, tracking, and reporting to coalition funders.
- Maintaining accurate records in team databases, regulatory and legislative tracking systems, and the coalition table of contents, ensuring they are kept up to date for effective information sharing.
- Managing organizational operations, including office management, supporting onboarding and offboarding of staff, and campaign-wide service support.
- Helping manage coalition retreats, advocacy days, and press events, when applicable.
- Managing office calendars, sending out meeting reminders, and scheduling meetings for campaign staff.
- Assisting with note-taking and track all meeting deliverables and action items
- Providing administrative support such as calendaring, reimbursements and other tasks for the Campaign Director.
- Supporting research and data collection for program planning
- Maintaining coalition emailing lists and records
- Drafting the monthly coalition newsletter.
- Working with the Senior Advocacy Manager to track congressional activities and support advocacy projects, when applicable.
- Tracking relevant news related to clean transportation.
- Drafting, editing, and/or proofreading correspondence, reports, speeches, web text, and other documents.
- Other projects as assigned.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills, experience, and competencies:
- 1 year of experience in an administrative role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of organization and enthusiasm for working with data, spreadsheets, and tracking systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work both independently and collaboratively, while taking initiative.
- Proactive, self-driven individual with a willingness to learn and ask questions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion when working with senior staff and other team members.
- Creative thinker willing to test out new ideas and improve processes.
- In-person work is required and some travel, as needed.
Other qualifications include:
- Interest in Congress or politics.
- Interest in transportation policy or related areas.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $24.00 - $26.50 per hour
This is a hybrid position. Candidates are expected to work in the Washington, DC office on Mondays and Wednesdays, and to support CVC events as needed
