The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Senior HR Generalist to join DCM Services as a key member of the Columbia founding team. This is a unique dual-function opportunity —  you will be the face of HR and the heartbeat of day-to-day operations at our new Columbia facility. You'll be instrumental in building our culture, standing up HR processes, and creating a workplace employees are proud to come to every day.


The Columbia office is anticipated to open September 1, 2026. This role will begin on or before July 1, 2026, giving you the runway to help prepare the facility, onboard staff, and ensure everything is in place for a successful launch.

What You'll Do

Human Resources

• Serve as a trusted, on-site advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, employee relations matters, and best practices.

• Support learning and development initiatives, including new hire orientation, training coordination.

• Serve as the on-site point of contact for day-to-day benefits questions (health, dental, vision, 401(k), leave, etc.), partnering with the Benefits & Payroll Manager for administration and open enrollment coordination. 

• Maintain and audit HRIS data, ensuring accuracy of employee records, organizational charts, and reporting.

• Oversee the performance management process including goal-setting cycles, mid-year check-ins, and annual reviews, coach managers on delivering effective feedback.

• Investigate and resolve employee relations issues in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws; escalate complex matters to HR leadership as appropriate and document findings and actions taken.

• Partner with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing; review timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies.

• Partner with the Minnesota recruitment team to support local hiring and help build the Columbia team. 


Office & Facilities Management

• Oversee daily office operations to ensure a clean, safe, organized, and fully functional work environment.

• Manage relationships with building management and external vendors (supplies, security, maintenance, vending, etc.); support service contract negotiation and monitor vendor performance. 

• Coordinate office space planning, seating assignments, and workspace reconfigurations in collaboration with department heads.

• Maintain inventory and procure office supplies, equipment, and furniture; manage associated budgets and purchase orders.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all facilities-related requests, repairs, and maintenance issues; ensure timely resolution.

• Develop and enforce office policies related to workplace safety, visitor management, and building access.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and local building codes; coordinate safety drills, inspections, and training.

• Manage logistics for in-office events, all-hands meetings, and employee programs (catering, A/V setup, room reservations, etc.).

• Oversee mail, shipping, and office reception functions as applicable.


What We're Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, with demonstrated expertise across multiple HR disciplines.

• Prior experience managing office operations, facilities, or vendor relationships.

• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

• High level of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information.


Preferred

• Experience in a mid-sized organization (100–500 employees).

• Familiarity with facilities management software or ticketing systems.

• Experience supporting a hybrid or multi-location workforce.

• Proficiency with HRIS platforms — Paylocity experience is a plus!

Working Conditions

• 100% on-site presence required at our Columbia, South Carolina facility.

• Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. (e.g., office supplies, equipment) may be required.

• Standard office environment; occasional after-hours availability may be needed for urgent facilities or HR matters.
