Description

As the Field Marketing Manager, you will serve as the strategic lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Rently events and field initiatives. Your primary purpose is to own the event marketing strategy, ensuring our presence at trade shows and industry events aligns with business needs and delivers a high return on investment (ROI). You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and tactical execution by managing budgets, coordinating with show organizers, and providing leadership to both the marketing team and on-site booth staff.


Requirements

 Core Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Event Management: Own and manage the marketing strategy for all company events, including researching new industry opportunities and determining the appropriate level of sponsorship or involvement based on projected ROI.
  • Relationship & Opportunity Building: Build strong relationships with show organizers to secure speaking opportunities and maximize Rently’s brand presence at every event.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the primary lead for stakeholders, providing the marketing and sales teams with robust audience information to set clear goals and produce high-quality work.
  • Personnel Supervision: Serve as the supervisor to the Event Marketing Manager (EMM), assigning tasks, ensuring deadlines are met, providing training, and reviewing/approving spending and contracts.
  • Operational Excellence: Create and manage detailed project workflows in Wrike, including task descriptions and deadlines, while ensuring all company profiles and exhibitor hubs are accurately maintained.
  • Budget & Data Accountability: Own the event budget, track spending against projected costs, and maintain revenue dashboards in Hockeystack and Salesforce to measure and report on event ROI.
  • On-Site Execution Support: Occasionally travel to events (3–5 times per year) to oversee booth builds, manage show services, and provide direct leadership to the booth staff.

 

Role Boundaries & Interfaces 


Internal Interfaces:

  • Event Marketing Manager (EMM): Direct report; requires daily task assignment, training, and performance oversight.
  • Sales Team & Booth Staff: Close collaboration to align on event goals, audience insights, and lead/opportunity data entry post-event.
  • Marketing Team: Collaboration to provide robust information on audiences to enable high-quality creative work and content production.
  • Leadership: Coordination on high-level budget and calendar planning.


External Interfaces:

  • Trade Show Organizers: Primary point of contact for securing booth space, managing contracts, and negotiating speaking opportunities.
  • Industry Partners: Engaging with industry bodies to research upcoming events and sponsorship opportunities.


Decision-Making Authority:

  • Independent Decisions: Task prioritization for the EMM, creation of project workflows/deadlines in Wrike, selection of event-specific messaging/materials, and determining event strategy based on ROI research.
  • Requires Approval: Individual contracts or spending exceeding $5,000 (where the Field Marketing Manager acts as the signatory). High-level budget shifts may also require alignment with department leadership.


Escalation Points:

  • Operational/Project Delays: Escalated if Wrike deadlines or show organizer submission dates are at risk of being missed.
  • Budgetary Overages: Issues regarding projected costs vs. actual spending that exceed the approved event budget.
  • Contractual Disputes: Legal or financial complexities within trade show contracts that fall outside standard operating procedures.
  • Reporting Line: Issues should be escalated to the Director of Marketing (or the designated executive lead).


Success Metrics / KPIs

  • Event ROI: Measurable revenue generated and tracked via Salesforce and Hockeystack dashboards relative to event spend.
  • Pipeline Generation: Successful conversion of event interactions into leads and opportunities entered by booth staff.
  • Budget Variance: Ability to track and maintain spending within projected costs and approved budget limits.
  • Operational Accuracy: Timely completion of Wrike projects and meeting of all sign-up and submission deadlines for show organizers.
  • Speaking & Placement Goals: Number of speaking opportunities and high-visibility placements acquired through organizer relationships.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Proven experience in field marketing or event management, including a background in supervising staff and managing complex project deadlines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools (Wrike), CRM platforms (Salesforce), and marketing attribution software (Hockeystack), event management platforms (Cvent, Map Your Show, Freeman, Spargo, Whova, Eventbrite).
  • Strategic Proficiency: Ability to conduct market research on industry events and perform ROI analysis to drive business decisions.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and mentorship abilities; excellent communication skills for building relationships with external organizers and internal stakeholders.
  • Logistical Expertise: Understanding of trade show operations, including booth services (electrical, catering) and online exhibitor portals.


Preferred Skills & Experience (Optional)

  • Experience in the B2B SaaS or Real Estate Technology industry.
  • Prior experience acting as a signatory for high-value marketing contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to align promotional content (email, social media) with specific event audiences.

You will be recognized as the "go-to" expert who empowers the sales team with the information they need to win. Within your first year, you will have streamlined our event planning process in Wrike and established a data-backed roadmap for which shows Rently should dominate. Ultimately, you will have built a collaborative environment where the Event Marketing Manager is mentored toward excellence and every event is executed with strategic precision.



 

For applicants located in California, the salary range for this full-time role is expected to be $80,000-$90,000 per year. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Rently reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications, and that the expected salary range may be different for candidates located outside of California.
