Description

The Logistics Operations Specialist provides operational and administrative support to MLS logistics team, ensuring accurate data entry, shipment setup, and system integrity within the Transportation Management System (TMS). This role is a foundational position designed to develop into a Logistics Coordinator.


Requirements

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enter and validate shipment data within TMS
  • Create loads and generate shipping documents (Rate Confirmations, BOL’s, Etc)
  • Assist with tracking shipments and flagging exceptions
  • Support carrier setup and onboarding processes
  • Schedule pickups and appointments
  • Maintain accurate shipment and customer data
  • Assist with freight audit and invoice validation
  • Support plant onboarding and data cleanup
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • 1 – 2 years of experience in logistics, operations, or related function
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel 
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes efficiently
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Interest in developi9ng a long-term career within logistics or operations

Work Environment (Remote)

This position is primarily performed in a remote work environment. The employee is expected to maintain a safe, secure, and productive home office or remote workspace that supports sustained focus, confidentiality, and effective collaboration. Work is primarily computer-based and requires prolonged periods of sitting, use of standard office equipment, and participation in virtual meetings.


The role requires reliable high-speed internet access and the ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients through video conferencing, messaging platforms, and other digital collaboration tools. Noise levels and ambient conditions may vary depending on the remote workspace.


Occasional travel to company offices, client sites, or team meetings may be required based on business needs.
