As a Human Resources Business Partner at JM Search, you will be a trusted advisor to leaders and people managers, responsible for strengthening performance, engagement, and talent development across the firm. This role partners closely with leaders to drive a high-performing, values-aligned organization while ensuring consistent and thoughtful execution of core people processes. Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Partnership
- Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders to understand business priorities, team dynamics, and talent needs.
- Coach leaders on people decisions, organizational effectiveness, and change management.
- Support leaders through growth, evolution, and moments of complexity (team changes, performance issues, role clarity, transitions).
Performance Management & Talent Development
- Own the firm’s performance management cycle, including goal setting, mid-year check-ins, and year-end reviews.
- Partner with leaders to ensure performance expectations are clear, fair, and consistently applied.
- Advise managers on performance feedback, development planning, and accountability conversations.
- Support talent reviews and succession discussions, helping leaders identify strengths, risks, and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development to translate performance and talent insights into targeted development solutions.
Employee Engagement & Feedback
- Lead the execution of employee engagement surveys and pulse checks.
- Analyze engagement data and partner with leaders to interpret results and identify action plans.
- Support leaders in communicating outcomes and driving meaningful follow-through.
- Act as a feedback conduit, surfacing themes, risks, and opportunities to HR leadership.
Employee Relations & Manager Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance aligned with firm values, policy, and best practices.
- Coach managers through employee concerns, performance issues, and workplace challenges with empathy and consistency.
- Conduct investigations as needed and recommend appropriate actions in partnership with HR leadership.
- Ensure employee relations practices are consistent, compliant, and aligned with the firm’s culture.
Culture, Values & Organizational Health
- Reinforce the firm’s core values through day-to-day HR practices and leader interactions.
- Support leaders in building inclusive, collaborative, and high-trust teams.
- Identify patterns and trends across teams that impact morale, retention, or performance and proactively recommend solutions.
- Partner with HR leadership on firm-wide initiatives related to culture, engagement, and leadership effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience supporting leaders in a professional services, consulting, or relationship-driven environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in performance management, employee relations, and manager coaching.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance empathy, judgment, and accountability.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and navigating complex interpersonal dynamics.
- Knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree required; HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) a plus.
