Description

In conjunction with the Program Director, this position is responsible for coordinating services pertaining to children and their families including providing support and advocacy to children and their caregivers, implementing the shelter’s children’s program, consulting with Department of Children and Families (DCF) and supporting families with DCF involvement and participating in collaborative systems work in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human service field, (i.e., Social Work, Counseling, Childhood Education, etc.) or equivalent education/experience and knowledge of domestic and sexual violence issues.
  • Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Treat others with dignity and respect regardless of differences in background and experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required; bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work sensitively with diverse populations and in high-stress environments.
  • A highly motivated and responsible individual with the ability to relate to a wide variety of people in a nonjudgmental, positive, and competent manner.
  • Excellent presentation and education skills and ability to relate to children/youth.
  • Must demonstrate good organizational and crisis intervention skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications, including databases, email and internet-based tools. Must be willing to work within the philosophy of the program and agency.
  • Confidentiality for all program survivors.
  • Provide and receive appropriate feedback, address, and manage conflict and maintain professionalism.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and access to reliable transportation must be maintain and ability and willingness to travel within CVOEO service area.
