Job Summary

The Rehabilitation Technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objective of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life. Rehab Technician duties plus Front Desk Duties - scheduling, answering phones, checking in patients, etc.


Responsibilities 

  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office. 
  • Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies. 
  • Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic. 
  • Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines. 
  • Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities. 
  • Communicate with the therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program. 
  • Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care. 
  • Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician. 
  • Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials. 
  • For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone. 
  • Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.  
  • Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity. 
  • Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background. 
  • Maintain a positive attitude in the clinic. 
  • Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Must be a current student or have completed a high school education

Certifications/Licensure

  • Not Applicable

Experience/Skills

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.  
  • Previous Medical Office experience preferred
  • Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. 
  • Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management. 
  • Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Available to work Part-Time schedule (30 hours per week - opening and closing shifts)
  • Available Monday-Friday

Physical Requirements

  • Stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds to waist height

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
