Job Title: Healthy Lifestyle Coach 

Status: Regular Part Time 

Reports to: Associate Executive Director      

Leadership Level: Leader Position Summary This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The individual should have a commitment to quality member service and teamwork with other staff in the nonprofit environment. The individual should also have the ability to adapt quickly in a constantly changing work environment. 

Essential Functions: 

1.Provides New Member Orientations

Introduces new members in to all aspects of the Y. Tells the mission of the YMCA and what we are doing in the community to meet the mission. Informs the member that they are a part of something more than just a place to workout. Gives member in depth tour of facility. Shares facility information such as hours of operations, pool hours, programs offered etc. Introduces member to staff and other members. Encourages member to participate in group fitness classes and other programs. Assist member in setting SMART goals.

2.Motivates and Encourages members.•Making follow-up phone calls•Keeping communication logs with members

3.Works with membership desk to ensure New Member Orientations are being scheduled and are successful

4.Learns and implements family fitness programming such as Cardio Kids and Junior Strength

5.Utilizes Daxko Engage and other programs to keep up with check in phone calls and other membership and wellness initiatives

6.Engages with members and makes note of their interests/complaints and works with senior staff to address issues or involves member in programs

7. Helps to enter and keep track of health and wellness programming paperwork and receives all necessary trainings through YUSA to do so.

Requirements
  • Must have active hands on CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire. 
  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Must have health, wellness, or sports experience of at least 2 years
  • Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 55 lbs 
  • Must be able to proficiently operate a computer
