Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and verify daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger entries.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Support the preparation of financial reports for management review.
- Organize and maintain financial documentation and files.
- Assist with account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Respond to internal financial inquiries as needed.
- Support the annual audit process by gathering required documentation.
- Collaborate to ensure compliance with accounting policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the finance function.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience, preferably within a healthcare or medical environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and healthcare billing practices.
- Familiarity with medical insurance billing and coding practices is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
- The bookkeeper will work in an office setting.
Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, manual dexterity sufficient to operate and a computer for inputting data, telephone, and copy/fax machine.
