Role Overview: A Staff Accountant’s main role is to support the day-to-day accounting tasks, along with assisting with preparation, analysis and reporting of the company’s financial records as an integral member of the accounting team. The role is responsible for entering transactions into the general ledger system, executing monthly closing procedures, and reconciliation of financial statement accounts.

Responsibilities: (The following is a list of responsibilities of this position, but is not intended to cover all duties that this position may be required to perform from time to time.)

  • Assist      in month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain      and reconcile general ledger accounts, including posting necessary journal      entries
  • Perform      daily bank reconciliation and monthly credit card reconciliation
  • Maintain      fixed assets and perform annual review of assets
  • Prepare      financial analyses and reports
  • Support audit engagements and provide supporting      documentation for annual financial statement review engagement and 401k      audit
  • Full-Time employees: Available to work 40 hours per week,      plus additional hours as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Skills/Experience Required:

· Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.

· Advanced Excel experience

· Working knowledge of GAAP

· Strong written and oral communication skills. 

· Attentive to detail, high degree of accuracy and well organized.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

· The Staff Accountant must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail. 

· The Staff Accountant’s work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly sedentary.

· This position is primarily in an office environment. 

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
