Description

Keep the Fleet Moving. Keep Ryan Running.

Behind every clean red truck and every well-maintained piece of equipment is a skilled mechanic who takes pride in their craft. At Ryan Lawn & Tree, our Mechanic is a critical part of what makes our operation run at the highest level — and we're looking for someone who loves the work, sweats the details, and knows how to keep a diverse fleet in peak condition.

If you're passionate about working on trucks and equipment, love solving mechanical puzzles, and want to be part of a company that actually values what you do — let's talk.

Who We Are

Ryan Lawn & Tree is one of the highest-quality lawn and tree companies in the Midwest and a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company. That means when Ryan wins, you win. We only hire great people — and we treat them like the partners they are.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair. Keep Ryan's vehicles and equipment running at peak performance — performing maintenance inspections, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs with precision.
  • Manage the fleet. Monitor inventory, maintain accurate equipment and vehicle maintenance records, and enter data into Fleetio and Asset Tiger daily.
  • Coordinate with vendors. Communicate with outside vendors on specialized repairs and ensure work is completed on time and to standard.
  • Be the internal expert. Interact with internal clients daily, communicating repair timelines, maintenance expectations, and solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Train and coach. Share your expertise with field associates and new team members — passing on best practices in equipment maintenance, care, and safety.
  • Think ahead. Provide feedback and input on capital equipment planning to help departments stay ahead of their needs.
  • Keep learning. Commit to ongoing on-the-job and classroom training to stay sharp and continue growing your skills.
Requirements

  • 5+ years of mechanic experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of equipment preventative maintenance and repairs
