Director of Food and Beverage – Resort


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Food and Beverage to lead our resort’s culinary and hospitality operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee multiple outlets, drive exceptional guest experiences, and execute memorable events that enhance our resort’s reputation. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in resort food and beverage management, with proven expertise in activating and executing large-scale events.


Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets within the resort, ensuring high standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction

- Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability across all outlets

- Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of food and beverage professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

- Plan, activate, and execute a variety of events, including weddings, conferences, and special functions, ensuring seamless delivery and guest satisfaction

- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth coordination of events and guest services

- Monitor industry trends and incorporate innovative concepts to enhance the resort’s F&B offerings

- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to food and beverage operations

Requirements

 Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 6 years' experience in the food and beverage, culinary, event management, or related professional area.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 4 years' experience in the food and beverage, culinary, event management, or related professional area.


Proven experience managing multiple food and beverage outlets, preferably within a resort or hospitality environment. Relevant hospitality or culinary management qualifications are preferred.

 

Skills and Knowledge

Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Strong background in event activation and execution. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Management of Financial Resources - Determining how money will be spent to get the work done, and accounting for these expenditures. Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and controlling costs.

Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Applied Business Knowledge - Understanding market dynamics, enterprise level objectives and important aspects of the company’s business to accurately diagnose strengths and weaknesses, anticipate opportunities and risks, identify issues, and develop strategies and plans. Aligning individual and team actions with strategies and plans to drive business results. Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals.

Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
