General Summary and Purpose:
The Field Service Technician is a core team member of the Service Department. The Field Service Technician is responsible for completing repairs on the Stirling Ultracold product portfolio, delivering training to service providers and, customers. The Field Service Technician is a member of the service department but will have heavy communication and collaboration with the Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs field-based diagnostics/troubleshooting on Stirling Ultracold freezers.
- Complete timely and thorough field repairs on all models of Stirling freezers.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with service support representatives.
- Upon repair completion, provide job specifics to the UltraCARE workload Sharepoint site.
- Manages repair depot equipment and inventory.
- Record all business-related travel/supply expenses.
- Relationship management:?Collaborate/train Independent Service Providers.?
- Represent Stirling Ultracold professionally on service calls to customer sites.
- Professional communication with customers and laboratory staff.

Job Requirements:
- Must have very strong customer relations communication skills (Phone, email, and face-to-face contact)
- In depth technical knowledge of Stirling’s product line(s)
- Experience Microsoft 365 Apps
- Demonstrate ability to diagnose and resolve problems on refrigeration type products.
- Must be able to work with little supervision.
- Must be able to maintain focus and composure in difficult situations.
- Must be able to interact with other team members while in cooperative working relationships.
- Must be able to walk, sit, and lift 50 pounds.
Job Specifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years of service experience
- Available to travel (approximately 80-90% of the time)
- Experience with HVAC, cryogenic or other refrigeration repair and/or technical support preferred.
- Experience with escalation protocols for critical customer issues preferred.
