Job description


The Receiver is responsible for accurately unloading, inspecting, and storing incoming products in a cold-storage warehouse environment. This role will also serve as a backup for Quality Assurance (QA) personnel, ensuring products meet company and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in temperatures below 40°F while standing for most of the shift.


Essential duties

  • Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents.
  • Inspect products for quality, damage, correct labeling, and proper temperature upon arrival.
  • Accurately record received items in the inventory management system.
  • Transport products to designated storage locations and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/WIFO as required).
  • Maintain clean, organized receiving and storage areas.
  • Serve as backup to Quality Assurance personnel
  • Verification of lot codes, best by dates, and regulatory compliance
  • Reporting quality issues or discrepancies to supervisors
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse, QA, and procurement teams regarding inventory status or concerns.
  • Follow all safety, food-handling, and company policies.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.


Requirements

Position Requirements

  • Previous warehouse or receiving experience is a plus
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to cross-train in Quality Assurance tasks.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for 90% of the shift
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, carts, and other warehouse equipment is a plus.

Position information:

  • Reports to: QA Manager
  • Location: On-site – Denver
  • Shift: Monday to Friday 4am to 12.30pm 
  • Compensation Range: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
