ABOUT COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAMS AT FFLC: Food For Lane County (FFLC) serves 85,000+ people across Lane County each year. About 1 in 8 adults and 1 in 5 children in Lane County are unable to meet their food needs from day to day. At FFLC, we know that food is medicine, which is why our mission is to reduce food insecurity by engaging the community to create access to food. Those we serve include families, veterans, unhoused, marginalized, disabled, seniors, and anyone with low/no income. FFLC’s Community Health Programs provide members of our community with services that support their nutrition, health, and wellbeing. Community Health Workers (CHWs) are a core component of these programs.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Community Benefits Supervisor provides day-to-day supervision and operational support for Food for Lane County’s team of Community Health Workers (CHWs). This role ensures CHWs have the guidance, tools, and processes needed to effectively connect community members with available benefits and health-related social needs (HRSN) resources. CHWs also conduct outreach and education about social service programs through community events, Food for Lane County programs, and partner agencies such as food pantries and meal sites. The supervisor supports staff in performing key program tasks including benefits eligibility screening, participant follow-up, documentation, invoicing, and distribution of food benefit cards.

Working under the guidance of the Community Health & Engagement Program Manager, the Community Benefits Supervisor coordinates daily team activities, supports staff in navigating complex client interactions, and coordinates the systems used to track services and benefits.
