DEPARTMENT: Pre-Close Services 

REPORTS TO: Risk & Draw Support Services, Manager

SUMMARY:

As a Construction Risk Analyst at Land Gorilla, you are the frontline defense for our clients' financial health. In this pivotal role within our Review Services department, you will leverage your analytical expertise to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks that impact construction project feasibility. From vetting contractor qualifications to deep-diving into construction budgets and contracts, you provide the critical "intelligence" needed to turn complex data into actionable security.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Your main job duties would be to assist the administration department with the following tasks:

  • Responsible for vetting out the contractor's qualifications
  • Review contractor background checks for risk factors
  • Validate contractor’s license, insurance, OFAC status, SOS, and other qualifying information
  • Use AI tools to research the contractor thoroughly to provide a risk score and recommendation
  • Responsible for completing a collateral/project review
  • Review construction-related documents for GSE program acceptance
  • Research and review local jurisdiction/permitting requirements
  • Evaluate construction contracts for industry best practices
  • Review plans and specifications for accuracy
  • Review plot plans/surveys for accuracy
  • Review inspection/warranty requirements
  • Review foundation/final survey requirements
  • Analyze construction budgets and draw schedules for risk
  • Review appraisal reports against project documents, such as the plans and specifications, and the budget.
  • Use AI tools to assist with completing the project review


Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of construction and renovation mortgage experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of contractor, budget, and project review experience
  • Must be familiar with construction and renovation terminology
  • Must be familiar with AI tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must have a naturally positive demeanor 
  • Strong organizational, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be adaptable
  • Accepts constructive criticism
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform multiple assignments without immediate supervision 
  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Experience with Google suite (G-mail, Calendar, Voice, Chat, Gemini, Meet, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms)

Compensation: range is $22-25/hour, Full-time


The actual pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, and geographical location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
