Description
What You’ll Actually Do
At the center of this role is one thing: turning geometry into decisions.
- Perform dimensional analysis and tooling wear studies using a Romer Absolute Arm with Integrated Laser Scanner and PolyWorks
- Compare scan data to CAD and identify wear patterns, drift, and risk before it becomes scrap
- Generate clear, actionable dimensional reports that production and engineering can actually use
- Support and run CMM inspections using MCOSMOS when needed
Gage Control & Measurement Ownership
You’re not just measuring parts — you’re owning the system behind the measurements.
- Manage the Gage Calibration & Control Program using GAGEtrak
- Calibration scheduling & tracking
- Gage acquisition & repair coordination
- Support MSA activities (bias, linearity, GR&R, etc.)
- Maintain and use precision measuring tools daily: micrometers, calipers, height gages, and more
- Ensure all measurement equipment is accurate, available, and audit-ready
Lab, Audits & Support
- Provide backup support to the Quality Lab when needed
- Assist with 3rd-party calibration services and keep things moving when auditors show up
- Keep documentation clean, organized, and ready for scrutiny
Bonus Points
- Foundry or machining experience (especially cast iron)
- Experience analyzing tooling wear trends
- Exposure to customer audits and quality systems (IATF, ISO, etc.)
Why This Role Matters
You’re the early warning system.
Before a dimension goes out.
Before a tool fails.
Before a customer notices.
You see it in the data first.
Bottom Line
If you enjoy breaking parts down into numbers…
If you trust data more than opinions…
If you like catching problems before they cost money…
You’ll do well here.
Apply and bring your curiosity. We’ll give you the scans.
