THE POSITION
Under the direction of the Director of TL Account Management this role will be responsible for quoting OD/ HH customers and covering the loads associated to the portfolio. Also assisting with legal loads as well as cover these loads associated to the portfolio, using online resources, our incumbent carrier network, and other tools to guide price points and proposal submissions to meet the transportation needs of our customers. This role will use carrier analytics and other tools to guide negotiations and buying decisions to meet the transportation needs of our customers. The Specialized Carrier Procurement Rep will also assist in Caterpillar RFP’s and mini-bids.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quote OD / HH Opportunities
- Secure HH / OD / Legal carriers to service one off, project based, or dedicated lanes for our customers
- Work hand in hand with the Specialized Account Manager to be the liaison between pricing/carrier relationships and our customers
- Develop carrier relationships to effectively support our customers
- Caterpillar RFP and mini-bids, CAT Freight Auction.
- Create and establish pricing strategies to improve our volumes while maintaining a profitable margin in the Truckload market
- Monitor and pivot to market price fluctuations while ensuring our clients and carriers receive the “Evans Experience”
- Daily interaction with our client’s TMS portals to capture transactional volume, specifically in the spot market
- Involvement in the RFP process
- Conduct consistent lane research daily and monitor our incumbent carrier base while building a stronger pricing network
- Organize, maintain and record our pricing submissions with our tools available
- Perform on-going revenue and profitability analysis to improve our buying behavior
- Participate in company monthly and & quarterly revenue budget plans
- Use techniques such as modeling and simulations to provide management with forecasting and recommendations for improved performance
- Understand our technology platforms and resources to drive automation
- Study and understand market trends and seasonality

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: N/A
Experience / Training: 2-5 years of relevant experience. Ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Driven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated. Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail and ability to work with a sense of urgency. Proven problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to read, write, type, and speak English fluently.
Licenses / Certifications: N/A
Technology / Equipment: Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Microsoft Office – Excel and Outlook. Ability and willingness to learn new software.
