Marketing Specialist
Description

This is a multi-faceted position that will work with a variety of departments in providing marketing and related sale support activities.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain corporate image via print and web-based materials.
  • Develop and maintain web-based customer newsletter, social media outlets.
  • Assist in creating employee newsletter.
  • Maintain database of media contacts.
  • Prepare and disseminate press releases.
  • Select and assist in the development of corporate attire and promotional items.
  • Work on finding new markets and expanding existing markets.
  • Work with ParkerStore managers and outside sales personnel in developing marketing ideas that are fiscally sound.
  • Work with manufacturers/vendors to increase awareness and sales through joint promotions. 
  • Create and send "new customer packets" to new clients that highlight company capabilities.
  • Track new customers' growth.
  • Maintain customer contact database with new and existing customers for mailing lists and promotional purposes. 
  • Attending and planning tradeshows. Track attendance and follow-up on leads. 
  • Coordinate special events such as meetings, speaking engagements, seminars, trade shows, corporate sponsorship events, etc. 
  • Coordinate and maintain all vendor sales leads. Develop a lead nurturing program strategy and monitor ongoing campaigns. 
  • Collect data from manufacturers and prequalify leads. Follow up with manufacturers and outside sales force as needed. 
  • Maintain literature - make sure we have adequate levels, and that the literature area is well organized. 
  • Fulfill any requests for literature and keep levels of line cards adequately stocked. 
Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP or related software to complete reports and logs.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

  •  The essential functions of this role regularly require the employee to sit; use their hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects; and to speak and hear effectively. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
