Description
Job Summary: The Surgery Scheduler Coordinator manages and coordinates surgical procedures, verifies insurance and authorizations, ensures required documentation is complete, and communicates pre-operative instructions to patients. This role works closely with clinical staff to support an efficient scheduling process and a positive patient experience.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with patients, surgeons, and hospitals.
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
- Maintain records of pre-certifications and authorizations; keep patients informed of progress.
- Prepare cost estimates and provide information on sedation, anesthesia, and post-op instructions.
- Schedule post-operative visits and ensure patients meet pre-op requirements.
- Other Duties as assigned.

- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and clinical staff.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in medical scheduling preferred.

- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, fax machines).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Visual acuity is required to perform tasks involving computer screens and paper documents.
- Ability to move around the office to access files, office machinery, and other equipment.
