The Retail Lending Trainer is responsible for development of a skilled, knowledgeable, and compliant lending team that supports organizational growth and performance. This role designs, delivers, and evaluates training programs aligned with business goals, regulatory requirements, and evolving industry standards. The position plays a key role in enhancing employee capability, improving client experience, and ensuring operational excellence across lending functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop comprehensive training programs aligned with consumer and residential lending needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.
- Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual training sessions that build technical skills, sales effectiveness, and compliance knowledge.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through performance assessments, identifying skill gaps and recommending targeted development actions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in consumer and residential lending, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of compliance, systems, and best practices.
- Collaborate with lending leaders and stakeholders to identify training needs and deliver solutions that support operational performance and client experience.

- Specialist II: Intermediate role with increased ownership of training initiatives. Independently designs and delivers training programs, evaluates effectiveness, and partners with business leaders to address skill gaps. Demonstrates strong subject matter expertise and contributes to improving training processes, content, and learner experience.
- Officer: Advanced-level role responsible for strategy, leadership, and enterprise impact. Leads the development and execution of training programs aligned with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and business performance. Acts as a subject matter expert, influences stakeholders, drives innovation in training delivery, and ensures measurable outcomes across lending teams.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential position requirement satisfactorily and a skills inventory is listed below. Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; related experience in lending, training, or financial services preferred. Secondary education or certifications in training, education, or finance are a plus. Background screening required.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to individuals and groups.
- TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Proficiency in digital tools, LMS platforms, and lending systems (e.g., nCino, Empower, Salesforce, Loan Officer Digital) or the ability to learn quickly.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic calculations and interpret financial data, ratios, and performance metrics.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to analyze training needs, solve problems, and adapt learning solutions to complex business environments.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
This position operates in a professional office environment with extended periods at a desk using standard office equipment. Noise level is moderate with frequent communication and collaboration. Frequent travel (quarterly) may be required to support training across market areas or attend off-site sessions.
