Special Kids, a non-profit Christian therapy and nursing center in Murfreesboro, TN, is dedicated to serving children with special needs. The Development and Volunteer Coordinator supports the execution of the Investor Relations strategy by driving movement within the donor and volunteer pipeline. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent engagement, timely follow-up, and strong operational support across events, volunteers, and entry-level donor relationships.
Working closely with the Director of Development, Event Specialist, and Investor Relations team, this position helps identify, engage, and move individuals from initial connection to deeper involvement—supporting both revenue growth and long-term relationship development.
This role owns the day-to-day management and optimization of Monday.com and Bloomerang to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and pipeline visibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Pipeline Development & Movement
- Support movement of individuals through the pipeline: awareness ? engagement ? invitation ? follow-up ? conversion
- Ensure all new contacts (event attendees, volunteers, inquiries) are entered, assigned, and actively managed
- Execute timely follow-up to maintain momentum and prevent pipeline stagnation
- Identify opportunities to move volunteers and event participants into donor relationships
Investor Relations Support
- Provide administrative and relational support to Investor Relations team members across all donor tiers
- Assist with scheduling, communication, and follow-up tied to donor meetings, tours, and touches
- Support stewardship efforts by ensuring timely thank-you communication and ongoing engagement
- Help track and support activity toward monthly, mid-level, and major donor goals
Event Execution (Revenue & Engagement Driver)
- Support the Event Specialist in executing events that drive both revenue and pipeline growth
- Coordinate logistics, timelines, sponsorship tracking, and communications
- Assist in managing event platforms for registrations, sponsorships, and donations
- Ensure post-event follow-up is completed and documented to move attendees into the pipeline
- Track and report on event outcomes tied to participation, engagement, and revenue
Volunteer Pipeline Ownership
- Build and manage the volunteer pipeline as a key entry point into deeper engagement
- Serve as primary contact for volunteer individuals, groups, and corporate partners
- Create clear next steps for volunteers to stay engaged (repeat service, events, giving opportunities)
- Track volunteer engagement, retention, and conversion into donors or advocates
- Support in-kind donations and corporate partnerships connected to volunteerism
Systems Ownership & Reporting
- Serve as the Development team’s expert in Monday.com and Bloomerang
- Ensure all activities, touches, and relationships are documented consistently and accurately
- Build and maintain pipelines, dashboards, and workflows that reflect real-time progress
- Generate weekly and monthly reports on pipeline movement, event performance, volunteer engagement, and revenue support
- Provide visibility into next steps, gaps, and opportunities for the team

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a Communications or Business program; or related experience in leading a volunteer program; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
