Manager, Human Resources & Administration
Job Type
Full-time
Description

Be the Operations Heart of a Healing Community

What You'll Do:

Monroe Harding has spent 130 years in Nashville’s corner, caring for more than 16,000 children and young adults in foster care and transitional housing. We’re looking for a Director of HR & Operations who wants their expertise to fuel a mission that genuinely changes lives.

This is a seat at the table. You’ll serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and managers, owning the full HR function — recruitment, onboarding, performance management, payroll, benefits, compliance, and staff development — while also overseeing key administrative and financial operations, including vendor contracts, audits, and risk management. You’ll directly supervise two team members and lead cross-functional process improvement efforts that strengthen the entire organization.

We operate from five core values: Optimism, Inclusion, Curiosity, Personal Accountability, and Collaboration — and we are looking for a leader who lives and inspires them.

The Manager, HR and Administration is one of the most pivotal roles in our organization. You will serve as a strategic partner to our VP of Finance & Administration and senior leadership team, ensuring that our people systems, financial operations, and organizational infrastructure are all aligned to support our mission.

This role requires someone who genuinely thrives at the intersection of human resources and financial administration. If you see AP/AR, benefits administration, compliance, payroll, vendor management, and employee relations as interconnected parts of a healthy organization rather than separate silos, you will find this work deeply satisfying.

What We Provide:

  • Salary starting at $75K and increases based on education and experience.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance available
  • Life Insurance
  • Long Term Disability
  • Generous paid time off package
  • 401k (Monroe Harding will match up to 4%)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Professional development and training

Requirements

 What You Bring:

  • Bachelors in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have led HR and administrative functions in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment
  • Are as comfortable in a budget spreadsheet as you are in an employee relations conversation
  • Understanding of effective teamwork in values-driven culture
  • Are energized by building systems that let people do their best work
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, reporting to the VP of Finance & Administration
  • Ensure 100% compliance in child welfare and financial standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
