The Business Development Director will expand ASAC’s presence in Iowa by building strong relationships with referral sources, partner agencies, and community stakeholders to drive awareness and referrals for all services, with a key focus on Residential and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) services. This role leads outreach efforts, represents ASAC at events, supports major community initiatives, and strengthens partnerships that enhance access to care.
Key Duties:
- Establish and maintain relationships with referral sources, healthcare providers, partner agencies, and community organizations across ASAC's service area and throughout Iowa.
- Build responsive, collaborative relationships with referral partners, actively identifying gaps in the referral process and communicating feedback to leadership to improve efficiency and access to care.
- Represent ASAC at community events, conferences, and professional gatherings to expand the organization's presence and referral network.
- Communicate ASAC's programs, treatment levels, and clinical strengths clearly to external partners and stakeholders.
- Develop outreach strategies that increase visibility, strengthen community ties, and grow referrals with a focus on Residential and PHP services.
- Set and achieve measurable outreach goals that drive admissions growth and program utilization.
- Supervise the Grant Writer, providing ongoing performance management, professional development, and strategic direction to ensure grant pursuits align with organizational funding priorities and growth goals.
- Monitor behavioral health trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and adapt outreach strategies.
- Coordinate with ASAC's external marketing firm and advocacy partners, with increasing responsibility as the organization's primary point of contact over time.
- Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to ensure outreach efforts align with program capacity and organizational priorities.
- Maintain outreach databases, referral tracking systems, and community contact lists to support informed planning.
- Help plan and execute ASAC-sponsored events that build community connections and raise public awareness.
- Travel regularly across the service region to maintain strong relationships and visibility in key communities.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelors degree in business, marketing, communications, healthcare administration, or a related field. Two years of demonstrated success in business development, outreach, community relations, or sales; and experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or substance use treatment preferred. Candidates must be skilled in communication, presentation, and relationship-building. This role requires the willingness and ability to travel regularly across ASAC service counties and throughout Iowa, so an ability to maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) in accordance with the organization's background check policy is required.
