We are currently hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in the Lewiston/Auburn area.
Position Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides person-centered, hands-on support to individuals receiving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) under MaineCare waiver programs.
DSPs play a critical role in helping individuals:
- Live safely and independently
- Engage in their communities
- Achieve personal goals
Support is delivered in alignment with:
- Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
- Maine DHHS Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) regulations
- HCBS Settings Rule requirements
- Hope Family Partners policies and standards
What You’ll Do
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) (hygiene, meals, mobility)
- Support community integration and social engagement
- Implement and track progress on individual goals
- Ensure health, safety, and well-being of individuals served
- Complete accurate documentation and communication (Paylocity, logs, reports)
- Work collaboratively with team members, families, and care coordinators

Required Qualifications (Maine HCBS)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to pass Maine DHHS-required background checks
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if transporting individuals)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required
- Ability to complete required Maine HCBS trainings within designated timeframes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of person-centered planning and HCBS Settings Rule
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Medication Administration certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with Maine waiver services and documentation standards
- Current DSP certification or ability to attain certification within 90 days of employment
