Job Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, financial reporting, grant management, and audit support within a nonprofit/CCBHC environment. The position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and supports leadership with financial insights and process improvements. 


Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None


Duties/Responsibilities:


• Perform monthly cash and investment reconciliations.

• Manage and process grant invoicing (20+ grants monthly).

• Oversee grant tracking, organization, and compliance.

• Manage fixed assets including depreciation schedules and reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

• Maintain and reconcile prepaid expenses.

• Prepare departmental financial reports and support revenue reporting.

• Provide support for the following:

   - 401(k) audit (July)

   - Form 5500 (September)

   - Annual financial audit (February/March)

   - Form 990 tax return support (August)

   - Cost reporting (April/May)

   - Secretary of State & Attorney General reporting (April/December)

• Assist with budgeting process development and execution.

• Perform financial analysis across statements and departmental performance.

• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.

• Serve as backup support for Accounts Payable (AP).

• Serve as backup support for payroll processing.


Requirements


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Microsoft 365

• QuickBooks Online (QBO)

• Bill.com

• Payroll Systems

• AI and technology tools (e.g., Claude)


Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

• 3–7+ years of accounting experience 

• Experience in nonprofit and/or healthcare (CCBHC preferred)

• Strong understanding of GAAP

• Experience with audits, cost reporting, and grant management

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.


Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to sit for the majority of the workday.

• Constant use of the hands and fingers for typing, operating calculators, and handling documents.

• Close vision ability to read reports, data, and computer monitors.

• Occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 10-25 pounds.

• Occasionally standing, walking, bending, or kneeing, especially when filing, or interacting with office equipment


Work Environment:

• A professional environment that enforces strict ethical standards, data confidentiality, and separation of duties to prevent fraud. Business hours are conducted from 8am-5pm M-F.

Salary Description
$70,000 to $80,000
