Position: Production Process Control Manager

Reports to: Apopka Operations Manager


POSITION

 

The Production Process Control Manager Motivates, supports, and provides guidance to production staff. Ensures safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free. Communicates regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production. Evaluates resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime. Establishes a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations. Sets productivity goals for each manufacturing team. Develops workflow policies and procedures (SOPs) that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality. Ensures adequate scheduling of staff.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Works closely with other individuals including LTHGH Supervisor.
  • Manages the packaging supervisor and liaises with other departments including Shipping, Inventory, Sales and NPD
  • Works with UJ Operations and/or any third-party vendors to facilitate balanced production capacity across all assembly locations
  • Oversees production schedules and timesheets for Production.
  • Reviews assembly sheets for new products to develop new SOPs
  • Understands LTHGH labor requirements (labor requirements).
  • Identifies labor status in LTHGH i.e., late/on time/early and Updates (Alert Operations Manager and/or Sales Team about potential issues and/or make decisions about OT)
  • Become familiar with BOMs and teach assembly teams to them.
  • Works with Director of Product Industrialization in collaboration with New Product Innovation team to give feedback from a production execution standpoint.
  • Implements new and improved processes for LIV, HGD, ACC transfer and storage
  • Continuously evaluates assembly process and flow to improve efficiencies. 
  • Implements new and improved processes for assembly and capturing substitutions used in LTHGH.
  • Monitors materials (LIV, HGD, ACC) available in LTGH necessary for the smooth running of production, as well as Inventories LIV, HGD, ACC in LTHGH.
  • Established KPIs for production teams and holds the teams accountable to hitting goals.
  • Procures materials (ACC) necessary for the smooth running of production.
  • Oversees quality control throughout the production process, ensuring the highest quality product is assembled and shipped to all customers
  • Champion Kaizen events for continuous improvement in assembly operations
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager
Requirements

  

SPECIFIC SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS


  • Previous experience working in a related industry preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical ability toward solving production-related concerns.
  • Knowledge of procuring materials, equipment, and labor needed throughout the production process.
  • Proficiency in quality control, lean initiatives, 5S, Kaizen, etc.
  • Competence with computer-based administration, record-keeping, and procurement systems. Preferably SAP and Excel expertise.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills toward managing human resources and liaising with other departments.
  • Availability to work extended hours to meet deadlines, when necessary.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb or balance as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

SAFETY & QUALITY STANDARDS - All safety provisions and procedures must be followed at all times. 

This may include the wearing of proper PPE including gloves, closed toes shoes, safety glasses, or chemical resistant aprons/suits. 

Participating or leading in an accident investigation, including the use of 5-Why root cause investigations.

Participating in safety meetings

Ensure all assemblies are produced according to the highest quality standers, and that appropriate scorecards are maintained
