Accountant
Description
  •  Prepares financial statements timely and accurately.
  • Reviews accounts payable batches daily to ensure invoices are being entered timely and accurately.
  • Performs analyses of financial reports and budget workbooks to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.
  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected property financial position. 
  • Conducts internal audits of individual properties to determine proper handling of financial transactions.  Monitors compliance with company procedures and communicates with appropriate person to correct issues due to non-compliance.
  •  Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  •  Verify the correct budget is reflected on the financial statements. 
  •  Prepares budget workbooks to be sent to managers to complete for following month.
  •  Complete bank reconciliations for each property accurately and timely.
  •  Prepare replacement reserve and repair reserve requests as scheduled.

Qualifications: 

  • Must      be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems,      collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and      initiate appropriate course of action. 
  • Must      effectively convey ideas, images and goals to a diverse group of      personalities verbally and in writing. 

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or      university; or 
  • one to two years related experience and/or training; or 
  • equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

· Machine, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position: Computer, telephone, fax, copier.

Language Skills   

· Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to communicate over telephone and in person.

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

· Ability to write simple correspondence. 

· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

· Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

Computer Skills

· To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of data entry, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
