Role Overview:
We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful Microgrid Mechanical Technician to assume responsibilities for multiple Microgrid generators. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing maintenance on power generation equipment, electrical experience as a plus. The Microgrid Mechanical Technician will coordinate with Area Managers to ensure generators are maintained, serviced, and operate for customer requirements for on demand electricity. The position is remote in the Stockton, CA area and will report to the Area Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L) and Marathon generator ends, as well as various voltage control and synchronizing equipment.
- Be proficient at learning and utilizing manufacturer specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.
- Facilitate technical support and liaison with equipment manufacturers.
- Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.
- Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
- Work in potentially confined areas of high heat and humidity, and cold.
- Follow company process and procedures for verbal/written communications.
- Utilize all current technology for communication, documentation, and research.
- Ensure Safe Operation of electrical equipment by enforcing company and industry standards.
- Safely prepare, operate, and maintain motor vehicles for the purpose of conducting company business.
- Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company’s management.

Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- Experience – at least 3 Years Mechanical and/or Electrical
- Education Level - preferred College or Equivalent Training (i.e. Military)
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport materials, equipment, or personnel to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Successfully pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to ensure compliance with company standards and safe driving practices.
- Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail.
- Computer skills- Uses computers, software applications, databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
- Flexibility-Technicians have a rotating on call schedule. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Must be able to be on your feet for multiple hours a day.
- Must be able to climb a ladder and lift 50 lbs safely.
- Integrity- Work efficiently and effectively when with or without supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Volvo Penta Diesel Engine experience
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

The expected payrate for this position is between $28 - $42 /hour. Final compensation Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and location relevant to this role.
