Description

The Benefits & Payroll Specialist supports the administration of the firm’s employee benefits and payroll related functions, ensuring accurate processing, compliance, and a positive employee experience. This role serves as a key resource for benefits support, payroll coordination, employee lifecycle transactions, and leave administration. The Benefits & Payroll Specialist works closely with HR, Payroll, and external vendors to maintain accurate records, resolve employee inquiries, and deliver timely, detail-oriented support across HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems while handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. This is a full-time non-exempt position.



Primary Job Duties:

  • Support a wide range of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, and wellness initiatives
  • Support payroll and timekeeping functions, including Hours Worked files, 401(k) and Transportation FSA uploads, HSA enrollments, and workers’ compensation claims 
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle transactions such as offboarding, terminations, separation paperwork, base pay and title changes, and system updates 
  • Assist employees with benefits inquiries, enrollment, and issue resolution, providing exceptional customer service
  • Manage Leave of Absence intake and coordination, including pay administration and return to work tracking, and support wellbeing programs 
  • Maintain accurate employee records across HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems
  • Prepare and deliver benefits-related communications, presentations, and training sessions to employees 
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues, ensure compliance, and deliver timely, accurate employee support

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2–3 years of experience in benefits administration, payroll support, or a related HR role
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask
  • Experience working in a highly sensitive environment handling confidential employee information 
  • Familiarity with Paylocity and/or Bswift benefits platform preferred 
Salary Description
$45,000–$60,000
