About Helix Linear

Helix Linear Technologies designs and manufactures high-precision motion control systems for industries where performance matters most, including aerospace, medical devices, defense, and advanced automation. Our products power mission-critical applications where reliability and precision down to ±0.0001 inches make all the difference.

Our vision is to engineer what's possible in motion, with precision, integrity, and purpose. We pursue that vision by designing, machining, grinding, and assembling critical motion components in-house, including precision ball screws and linear systems.

Our clean, climate-controlled facility is equipped with advanced manufacturing equipment including Citizen Swiss lathes, multi-axis CNC mills, precision grinders, and specialized assembly and test systems.

Helix is growing and investing in new equipment, advanced processes, and the systems required to scale with discipline. As we expand, we're building a world-class precision manufacturing operation, which means higher standards for ownership, communication, urgency, and accountability across every role on the floor.

About the Position

The Thread Rolling Machinist is responsible for the setup and operation of cylindrical thread rolling machines to produce precision components that meet Helix quality standards and ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.

This is a detail-oriented, process-driven role. You'll work to print, run first-article inspections, monitor your own output, and take ownership of part quality from setup through handoff.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate cylindrical thread rolling machines in accordance with work orders and engineering prints
  • Select and install correct dies; adjust machine settings including pressure, speed, and feed; perform trial runs before production
  • Load and position workpieces into machine fixtures, ensuring proper alignment and feed rates
  • Monitor machine operation continuously, making adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional tolerances and thread form accuracy
  • Inspect finished parts using thread gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to verify conformance to specifications
  • Complete first-article inspections and in-process quality checks per documented control plans
  • Identify and report defects, machine malfunctions, or out-of-tolerance conditions to the supervisor immediately
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance including lubrication, die cleaning, and minor adjustments
  • Maintain accurate production records including job travelers, inspection logs, and downtime reports
  • Move material to the next workstation using proper handling equipment
  • Follow all work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with other duties as assigned
