A "Gardener Maintenance Assistant" in hospitality is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal of a hotel or resort's outdoor grounds by performing tasks like mowing lawns, trimming hedges, planting flowers, weeding, removing debris, and operating gardening equipment, ensuring the property's landscaping is well-kept and contributes to a positive guest experience; this role often involves collaborating with the maintenance team to address any landscaping-related issues that may arise. 

Key Responsibilities:

· Grounds Maintenance:

· Regularly mow lawns and edge walkways. 

· Trim hedges, shrubs, and trees as needed. 

· Weed flower beds and garden areas. 

· Plant seasonal flowers and shrubs. 

· Remove debris and litter from outdoor spaces. 

· Maintain irrigation systems and ensure proper watering schedules. 

· Plant Care:

· Monitor plant health and identify any pest or disease issues. 

· Apply fertilizers and pesticides according to proper guidelines. 

· Prune and shape plants to maintain desired appearance. 

· Equipment Operation:

· Safely operate lawn mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, and other gardening equipment. 

· Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues. 

· Outdoor Event Support:

· Assist with setting up outdoor event spaces by planting seasonal flowers or placing decorative elements. 

· Maintain cleanliness of outdoor event areas. 

· Communication and Collaboration: 

·  Report any maintenance concerns or damage to the landscaping to the supervisor. 

· Coordinate with other departments, like housekeeping, to ensure the overall cleanliness of the outdoor areas. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of      Horticulture: Basic understanding of plant types, growth      habits, and proper care techniques. 
  • Physical Ability: Ability      to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather      conditions. 
  • Equipment Operation: Familiarity      with operating and maintaining lawn care equipment. 
  • Attention to Detail: Ability      to maintain a high standard of appearance in the outdoor spaces. 
  • Teamwork: Willingness      to collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments.
